Team Boss is a youth sports management platform operated by Team Boss LLC. Our SMS program delivers operational alerts from your sports organization to users who have explicitly opted in.
SMS is disabled by default for every account. You will not receive any text message from Team Boss unless you have actively turned on SMS notifications in your account settings.
This program is strictly transactional. We never use SMS for marketing, promotions, or third-party advertising.
02
When SMS is enabled on your account, you may receive operational alerts from your organization or Team Boss including the following.
The exact message types you receive depend on your role (admin, coach, parent, player) and the settings configured by your organization.
03
We collect SMS consent only through explicit user action. There is no pre-checked box and no silent enrollment.
In-app toggleOpen the Team Boss app, go to Profile → Notification Preferences, and turn on SMS Notifications. The toggle text states that you are opting in to receive automated SMS at the phone number on file and that message and data rates may apply.Phone verificationBefore any SMS notification is sent, your phone number is verified by a one-time code. Verification confirms ownership of the number and is required even for users who choose SMS as their sign-in method.Registration consentWhen you complete a public registration form that includes an SMS notifications checkbox, you may opt in at that time. The checkbox is unchecked by default and accompanied by the same disclosures shown in the app.Parental consent for minorsPlayers under 18 do not receive SMS unless a parent or guardian has opted their child in. Organizations are responsible for collecting parental consent in accordance with applicable law, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).04
Message frequency varies based on your organization's activity. A typical user may receive between two and ten messages per week during an active season and fewer in the off-season. Frequency is not capped because operational alerts (cancellations, safety notices) are sent as events occur. You can reduce message volume by turning off specific notification types in your app preferences while keeping safety alerts on.
05
Message and data rates may apply. Team Boss does not charge you for SMS messages, but your mobile carrier may charge for text messages and data depending on your plan. Contact your carrier if you are unsure about the cost of receiving SMS.

You can stop Team Boss SMS at any time.
